What is it?

Orthognathic surgery consists of a surgical intervention that is responsible for correcting dentofacial deformities through bone movements, both maxillary and mandibular, in order to achieve an adequate bite, restore masticatory function and improve facial aesthetics.

Class II:

It occurs when the maxilla is advanced with respect to the mandible.

Class III:

It occurs when the mandible is advanced with respect to the maxilla.

Openbite:

It is when one or more teeth fail to contact their antagonists.

Facial asymmetry:

It occurs when a part of one side of the face is unbalanced with respect to the other.

Edge to edge bite:

A patient is considered to have an anterior edge-to-edge bite when the incisal edges of the upper anterior teeth contact the edges of the lower anterior teeth.
The edge-to-edge bite, in some cases, is so marked that it impedes contact between the posterior teeth (molars and premolars).
