Orthognathic Surgery Barcelona

What Is Orthognathic Surgery?

Orthognathic surgery is a surgical procedure designed to correct dentofacial deformities through bone adjustments in both the upper jaw and the mandible. Its main goal is to achieve a proper bite, restore chewing function, and improve facial aesthetics.

Class II:

This refers to a situation in which the upper jaw is positioned in front of the mandible.

CLASS III:

This refers to a situation in which the mandible is positioned in front of the upper jaw.

OPEN BITE:

This occurs when one or more teeth fail to make contact with their opposing teeth.

FACIAL ASYMMETRIES:

These occur when there is a discrepancy in symmetry between one side of the face and the other.

EDGE-TO-EDGE BITE:

It is characterized by direct contact between the incisal edges of the upper and lower front teeth. In some cases, this type of bite can be so pronounced that it prevents contact between the back teeth (molars and premolars).
